BIS CARE APP: Verify Authenticity and Report Complaints

BIS CARE APP is a free iPhone application developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It serves as a handy tool for consumers to verify the authenticity of various marks, including the ISI mark, Hallmark, and CRS Registration marks, found on products. By simply entering the license number, HUID number, or registration number displayed on the item, users can access relevant details such as the manufacturer's name and address, the validity of the license or registration, the scope of the license or registration, the brands covered, and the current status of the license or registration. Additionally, the app provides information on the purity of jewelry articles.

In addition to verification, the BIS CARE APP allows users to report instances of sub-standard products, misuse of marks, or misleading claims of quality. Through the app's "Complaints" feature, users can register their grievances or complaints by selecting the appropriate complaint type, filling in the necessary details, and submitting supporting evidence. Once submitted, users receive an acknowledgment with a unique complaint number via SMS and email for future reference. The concerned department will then take necessary action based on the complaint and provide the required redressal according to the latest guidelines in place.
